Let It Rain
Suppose you have never seen rain and someone approached you and said, “There are going to be what look like big cotton balls that show up in the sky. Many of them are going to come together and block out the sun. Drops of water will come down. Everything will become wet.” What would you think?
Try as you might, you might not get it. An outsider is not speaking your language. Now, what if someone who thinks like you or has a shared background as you has seen rain and explains it to you? That will do it, right? Yes, because the message is coming from someone you can relate to and trust. You still won’t know rain until you see it, but you will be open to the possibility of a downpour.
